We are on our
way to the 11th edition of SpaItalia. In 1906, the Lancia &
Cia Fabbrica Automobili was founded. That is history for car lovers like
all of us, but what a history! From the start, Vicenzo Lancia succeeded
in privileging the production of comfortable cars against sport cars,
which were nevertheless very fashionable at the time. Only after World
War II, a ‘powerful’ division was developed. The brand knew F1,
sport-prototypes and of course rallies with the unforgettable Fulvia,
Stratos, S4 and Delta, to mention only a few names. The 10th
SpaItalia edition was a great and well-deserved success. The way should
be paved now and both unconditional followers and ordinary lovers of
beautiful cars will come and gather during what has become an
indispensable appointment in the agenda. With all our entousiasm, we
expect to see you on the most beautiful circuit in the world on 28 and
29 April 2012.
Theme
We start the
2nd SpaItalia decade by recalling a brand that was already
celebrated earlier in our Ardennes. Indeed, during SpaItalia 2006,
Lancia shared the main theme with Abarth and we remember the exceptional
gathering of emblematic models, including the Alfa 1908. In 2012, Lancia
will be the only one to carry the palm. We do expect hundreds of models,
but no less than four productions will be particularly highlighted. The
youngest one is the Lancia Hyena, aged 20. It is the result of an
initiative of lovers of beautiful cars, but it does not belong to the
main company. This superb coupé designed by Zagato is as rare as
attractive. Its history will be reconstructed with models on a 1:1 scale
that will carry away all car lovers. Rallies would most probably not be
what they are nowadays if the Lancia Stratos had not existed. For its 40th
anniversary, SpaItalia has some surprises for the lovers of this king of
the road. The more luxurious Flavia coupé blows out 50 candles; it was
an icon in the sixties. Whether in its standard version or in a design
by Zagato or Vignale, it reflects a style of living that seems to be far
off nowadays. Finally, the Augusta, a small saloon car at a moderate
price enchanted quite a lot of families in the thirties. It had numerous
variations and for its 80th anniversary, SpaItalia promises
you an exceptional concentration of remaining models.

Activities
Thanks to the diversity of the possibilities offered to the
participants, SpaItalia is year after year an enormous success. In 2012,
the tradition will go on with a Tourist Rally, an Elegancy Contest, the
Grand Parade on the circuit, the first ride on the circuit and the free
practice sessions for sports cars. This year, particular attention will
of course be paid to Lancia with exceptional concentrations that were
never seen up to now.
All the Italians!
As usual, SpaItalia does not forget the other transalpine brands and
coach-workers. The owners of Abarth, Alfa Romeo, De Tomaso, Ferrari,
Fiat, Iso, Lancia, Lamborghini and Maserati do not want to miss this
annual appointment of beautiful Italian cars. And let us not forget
adepts of Bertone, Pininfarina, Touring, Zagato and other important
coach-workers who all together represent a car tradition that is unique
in the world.
Clubs
Clubs can reserve a free space in the paddocks. Passion and friendly
atmosphere are the keywords of these fabulous meetings, with the clubs
always trying to outdo each other in their appearance and lively
activities.
The Grand

beautiful racetrack! For a one-hour session the track will be yours! Be
sure to book as soon as possible!

First ride on track in a ‘Classic’
Maybe you
have been dreaming of driving some tours on the Francorchamps circuit in
a Lancia Stratos or an Alfa Romeo TZ1? Well, that dream can come true in
April, during SpaItalia.
The Scuderia (*)
Sports car owners will have the unique opportunity of driving freely on
the Formula 1 track. What a great feeling! (Warning: mandatory helmet -
participants must be over 16).
Formula Club Belgium
Since many years, sessions reserved to monoplaces are
being expected at SpaItalia. In co-operation with the Formula Club
Belgium, SpaItalia is happy to be able to offer the owners of a
‘monoposto’ the possibility to drive on the Spa Francorchamps
F1-circuit, thus also broadening the spectacle for the visitors. For

A tourist rally
On Saturday afternoon, a tourist rally will offer the opportunity of
discovering the wonderful region of Spa. The start is scheduled at 2:00
pm from the paddocks.
The Concours d'Elegance
It is the tradition to reward the most beautiful, the most original and
the nicest car in SpaItalia! Trophies and superb rewards offered by our
partners will greet what the jury retains as the most remarkable cars of
the year.
Shops
Off-track there will be stalls for the browsers and the enthusiasts
looking for rare parts or more recent creations as well as various
products of Italian origin.
The car park (an exhibition in itself!) or ‘an open-air Motor
Show’
Only Italian cars will be admitted to the paddocks where the organizers
will direct them to the area assigned to their brand. The other cars
will use the outside car parks.
Catering and related packages
In the
different permanent structures of the circuit, all tastes are catered
for. From a hot-dog to an all-in lunch in the Brasserie on the top of
the Pit Building, everyone will find something suitable. Moreover,
SpaItalia proposes a dinner with show on Saturday night in the Hotel de
l’Eau Rouge, where all fans can gather for a long Italian night!

Participating
vehicles may not exceed the maximum sound level of 105 dB. Strict
testing will be done at the exhaust, measured with a sound level meter
at 1 meter from the exhaust, at 45 degrees, with the engine running at
75% of the maximum rpm.
