THE 2010 EDITION CAME UP
TO EXPECTATIONS !

Of all events celebrating Alfa Romeo’s centenary, SpaItalia will
undoubtedly be remembered as the one in which all aspects of the
brand were optimally displayed.
The central exhibition covered the historical aspect with a
sporting tendency by showing several jewels, such as the
thoroughbred 6C 2300 ‘Pescara’ dating from 1939 or the 8C 2300
Spider Corsa dating from 1932, not to forget the unique 33
Prototipo. This exhibition was completed in a highly judicious
way by a ‘time schedule’ of more than 20 metres, in front of
which other Alfa’s were displayed in chronological order, under
the patronage of the Club Quadrifoglio Belgio.
For the modern cars, we honour the efforts of Alfa Romeo’s
importer, who conveniently took advantage of the occasion to
present the brand-new Giulietta to an enthusiastic audience.
ALFA’S GALORE!
Over and above that, the success of the event is in the first
place due to the Alfists themselves.
Amongst the 1500 Italian cars which invaded the paddocks of our
national circuit, we counted more than 600 Alfa’s. An absolute
record ! Only the official manifestation, organized in Milan by
the manufacturer, can have attracted more cars.
Numerous owners were spotlighted during different events, such
as the Alfa of the Hour, the Quiz and, of course, the Elegancy
Contest. Others competed on the circuit, during several free or
guided sessions, or participated in the rally on Saturday.
Everyone came to his own !
The Grand Alfa Parade was certainly another record, with more
than 300 Alfa participating ! It must have been the biggest Alfa
traffic jam ever organized. But even if it caused some
congestion when entering the circuit, the Alfists present can
say : ‘I was there’ !
ALL ITALIAN CARS WERE WELCOME !
The importance of this event celebrating Alfa’s centenary should
however not overshadow the enthusiasm of the other Italian car
lovers, such as owners of a Fiat, a Lancia or an Abarth who were
glad to celebrate the anniversary of their sister-brand. And
owners of a Ferrari, a Maserati, a Lamborghini, an Iso, a De
Tomaso and many others were present at the annual rendez-vous,
in spite of the unfavourable weather conditions. Wherefore our
gratitude.
